Oh thank all that is Womanly, our deliverer this day.

Now I can get back to the important things.

Tin tin tin

I love tin

So pretty

If only you could make clothes out of it.

And wine! Delicious wine!

Hmmm, the stocks are starting to look a little low.

Commence Operation: Lush Mk2!

MortuusLupus is getting annoying.

It is a common thing to keep track of the injured or inspired by screaming announcements through the fortress.
But it does get damn irritating when it's the same thing every two minutes!

Will this never end?

Yes, yes it will.

Sorry, Mortuus, but you're not fit for soldiering anymore.

Oh for Onshen's sake!

How am I to hear the words of the goddesses with all this NOISE?!

Who was that guy Pozzo was always screaming for?

The builder guy...

Nice name...

What was it?

Oh yes.

MARKUS!

GET OUT OF THE WELL AND GET OVER HERE!

'Yes, Ma'am?'
'I can't hear the voice of the lady divine through all this constant shouting. Dig me an enclave. Or better yet, just beautify a section of cavern for me.'
'Why not use Bad Munki's enclave?'
'I worship Mishos, not Mondul.'
'Yet you want it in the caverns...'
'Stow the pessimanism and get chiseling.'

15th Granite 272

HELL HAS COME!

...

WE ARE OUT OF TIN!

HORDE ALL WE HAVE LEFT! YOUR LADY HAS SPOKEN!

What on Earth shall I furnish my enclave with now?

Yay! Tin Ore!
Get digging, men!

20th Granite 272

There are criminals in this Fortress. Dwarves walking free whose crimes cannot go unpunished.

Summon the Militia Commander!

Oh what the hell.

What stupid Dwarf thought this was a good idea?

Something else for a Dwarfette to sort out.

Much better.

'I, Lady Commander Bene ...um... command! Bring me the criminals Mr. Vile and Charlie72.

Mr Vile, for inviting the enemy into the Fortress...

...for criminal negligence leading to fortress wide disaster, and for...what was it, Markus?
'Architectural Vandalism'

Yes, that. You will be imprisoned under the strictest penalties of the Convention of Dwarven Rights.

Charlie72, for criminal negligence...

...industrial malpractice and attempting to cause the Apocalypse

you too will face this most deserved fate.

Leperfish! Get the masons to work.

22nd Granite 207

Elven Pervert!

The beast escaped without incident.

I hope this isn't a sign that there's more of them out there...

25th Granite 272

There is a fish in this corridor.

Why is there a fish in this corridor?

27th Granite 272

Migrants!

Where are they still coming from?

Vadoc (F) - Fisherdwarf Knife of Dominating

A NOTE FROM: Leperfish Boltslaughter, Assistant Architect
FOR: Lady Bene Elim, overseer
I am writing because on the day before this day, my long-time friend and the founder of Gemclod, Markus Cz. Orbsand, has tasked me to inform you about his will to resign as the chief Architect of the fortress. It was a surprise.

In the spring of year 271, a year ago, Markus formed a group called Counsel, to whom he complained about perceived faults in Gemclod's architecture. He was very passionate about breaches of his Designs, but without support from the overseer, he could do nothing but hold long ranting speeches to anyone who would listen. Now he informed me of his will to pass all his remaining architectural duties to this Counsel. It is not a traditional step for several to perform the job of one, but I talked to the others and they are open to the idea.

The Counsel had six members, not including Markus. Of those, one has died and one has been arrested. The other dwarves and their tasks are: First, Bad Munki, who agreed to take over responsibility for the “Keg” above the fortress. Second, Peungingo representing the late Boing, who agreed to take upon this responsibility of designing traps and defenses. Third, Bob N Threadbar representing baron Commatoes. Markus has for a long time been trying to remove and fix the aquarium in the Entrance. Little Bob let it be known she had a plan to drain the aquarium using a bucket brigade. Fourth, myself. I will explain my part later.

Markus himself has retreated to the lower levels, and has been speaking about designing a grand cemetery and taking care of the dead. He is thus asking you to provide any materials and workforce he might need in his task. For you to understand the graveness of the situation, you must know the tradition of Markus' deeds. I have known him since before the first of my hair turned gray and I will explain. Markus' life rotates like a wheel of a wagon. Usually, he is cheerful and focuses on little past his designs, but as the wheel turns and an inevitable tragedy comes, he would descend to the gloomy bottom. Here he would remain sometimes for weeks, sometimes for months, but eventually there would be something that would strike his mind, make him come up with designs again, and raise. But this time, the wheel is not following the tradition. It stopped the moment Markus spoke to me of Pozzo, and I haven't seen it turn since. I fear the wagon has broken. Markus might not be coming back this time.

As for myself, there is little to do but to assist and watch over my friend. He has asked me to produce grave stones and chisel them in the names of the fallen. I do not understand this notion, for it was never a part of the Lore in my family nor was is a tradition in the old fortresses before they were abandoned. It is a new thing, uncertain and untested. I will still help, and I ask you to allow us to work, but I fear bad things are to come.

With regards,
Leperfish Boltslaughter
